About Haveli

With the Krupa and blessings of Shri Thakorji, Shri Mahaprabhuji, PujyaPaad Goswami 108 Shri Indirabetiji (jiji) and inspiring input of all the vaishnavas of Toronto, Pushtimargiya Vaishnav Samaj of Canada was incorporated in May 14th, 1999. With all the hard work, the committee members were successful in registering PMVS of Canada with a charitable status on April, 20th, 2001.

PMVSC is first of its kind of organization all over Canada that follows Shrimad Vallabhacharyaji Shri Mahaprabhuji’s Shudhdhadwait Pushtimargiya beliefs. In 2001, PMVS successfully celebrated the festival of Chhak Mahotsav and Faag Mahotsav. All the vaishnav’s of Toronto enjoyed these celebrations immensely. For many years after this, our Pushtimargiya satsang was conducted at the SMCC during the months of April, June, September and December. In addition, Shrimad Mahaprabhuji’s Prakatyotsav is rejoiced in the Chaitra month of every year as well as Vraj Yatra is conducted since Vraj was inaugurated 20 year ago. Many Vallabhkul Acharyas visited Toronto each year and bless the Vaishnavs, conduct Vachanamrut and Padhramni at various vaishnav’s residences to preach Pushtimarg and preserve Pushti Parinciples.

Vaishnavs of Toronto conduct Pushti satsang on every Ekadashi(Agiyarus) in the East, West and Central Toronto for past many years to promote and enhance the Vaishnav values and our way of worshipping Lord Shrinathji following the principles of Shrimad Vallabhacharyaji. The enthusiastic committee members of PMVSC were in search of a place to start Haveli.

On September 11th, 2004, PMVS of Canada witnesses the first of its kind Chhappan Bhog under the guidance of P.P. 108 Shri Dhrumilkumar Goswami Mahoday. We, the PMVS of Canada experienced the Pushtimargiya culture and the large crowds of vaishnavs residing in Toronto. Over 6000 vaishnavs attended this Utsav that lasted for 2 days. This large congregation of Vaishnavs of Canada and their enthusiasm inspired and motivated the committee of Chhappan Bhog as well as the trustees of PMVS to start our Shrinathjil Haveli in Toronto, Canada.

With the blessings and the guidance from HDH Goswami 108 Shri Dhrumilkumarji Mahodayshri, (our Spiritual Benefactor – Ashraydata), PMVS of Canada started the Haveli on November 13th, 2005. Shri Thakorji’s Anavaran Vidhi and tilak Vidhi were conducted on this day amongst a huge crowd of vaishnavs. There were tears of joy in the eyes of the vaishnavs and for the committee members it was a dream come true after years of long wait. We received a great amount of help and co-operation from Vraj and this support received in the first year is greatly appreciated. Gopalbhai of Vraj, with the consent of his committee, sent us their Mukhiyaji for seva and sukh of Shri Thakorji until our Mukhiyaji could get visa and arriave in Canada. Bhagvadiya vaishnav Pramod Amin visited on the inauguration of our Haveli, with 2 kirtanias and Charandasi who were among the first few vaishnavs from Vraj to witness the pleasure and eagerness of the vaishnav of Canada.

Over 1500 Pushtimargiya families residing in Toronto enjoy the Darshan of Shri Thakorji from time to time. During utsav, there are approximately 1200 vaishnavs that come for Darshan of Shri Thakorji. There are also visiting vaishnavs, friends and family of resident vaishnavs, from all over the world, who visit the Haveli for Darshan of Shri Thakorji and to admire this commitment towards preserving Pushtimarg and its principles. The vaishnavs of Canada listen to the Spiritual Discourses presented by visiting Pushti Acharya, other religious dignities and scholars. We celebrate Pushti Utsavs like Vasant, Holi-khel, Dolotsav, Shriji Patotsav, Hindola, Janmashtami, Nand Mahotsav, Sharadotsav, Dlilwali, Annakut, Mahaprabhuji-Gusainji-gokulnathji Pragatyotsavs and Sanjhi.

Major Milestones:

PMVS Cultural Centre works under the umbrella of PMVSC and involves in activities for all age groups of Vaishnav community of Canada. PMVS conduct a youth club, Vallabh Youth Organization, where younger children are taught the values and teaching Pushtimarg to foster and promote the Indian heritage in Canadian mainstream.

Library of Pushtimargiya readings is providing books and literature on Pushtimarg. Seniors and youngsters take advantage of this service.

Future Plans:

The committee members of PMVSC dream of starting a Senior Ciltizen Club with activities for senior vaishnavs, engaging them in satsang and outdoor activities.

For young generation, PMVSC plans to conduct classes to teach Shrinagar for various seasons, and on various occasions, kirtan classes, Phool Ghar Seva, Tokri Seva, Protocols of Pushtimarg, thus incorporating Pushti Seva Prakar in the new generation to spread the religion and preserve the values.

Under the PMVSC there is a future plan of starting new immigrant settlement services to aid the new comers in their initial period of settlement in Canada. These services will help the new comers to integrate into the society and the labour market as well as socialize while getting the benefit of seva and Darshan of Shri Thakorji.

The major milestone to achieve in the near future is the expansion of Shrinathji Haveli to build NUTAN NANDALY FOR SHRI THAKORJI.
